Our weekend celebrations were thoroughly
enjoyable. The church was decorated with beautiful
flower arrangements and the exhibition showed aspects of the
100 years of faithful work and witness.
We welcomed Rev Peter Bailey (Curate 1962-1966) to our
morning service.
In
the evening, following a parish tea in the hall, we had the great pleasure of
the choir of Southwell Minster, conducted by Paul Hale, who sang evensong and
then gave a concert.
This was inevitably
a sad time since we were all anticipating the closure
of the church.
And we also
acknowledged the birth of a new Diocese
of Ho in Ghana and
raised over £380 to be sent to support
the work of the Anglican Church in the Volta Region.
